We send commercial electronic messages only with a recorded reason to do so. This page explains the operating rule. It is not a legal opinion on CASL.
This page describes how BC Signal intends to operate. It has not yet received professional legal review and is not a guarantee of compliance with PIPEDA, CASL, or any other statute. Last updated 2026-09-10.
What we send
- Transactional: confirmations, Signal Score reports, booking updates. These exist because you asked for that action.
- Marketing: occasional email about revenue systems for Canadian service businesses. Only if you opted in on a form.
What we do not do
- Buy or scrape email lists
- Add you to marketing because you booked a call
- Text you for marketing unless you separately consent to SMS
- Hide the unsubscribe path
How consent is stored
Every marketing opt-in writes a consent record: type, captured value, timestamp, source form, and the privacy-policy version shown at the time. That is the record we use to answer “did this person ask for this message?”
Unsubscribe
Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link. You can also write privacy@bcsignal.com and ask to be removed from marketing. We will keep the suppression record so a later import cannot quietly re-add you.
Outbound prospecting
Founder-led outreach to businesses is a separate motion from this website. It is targeted, identified as coming from BC Signal, and must include a way to say stop. It is not run through purchased lists.
